This past summer Andrew Scott Dolkart – professor, architectural historian, and director of Columbia University’s Historic Preservation program – led the “official” Six to Celebrate tour of Greenpoint! Co-sponsored by the Historic Districts Council as part of the Six to Celebrate program, this tour was a sold out within days of its announcement and it definitely did not disappoint! As one of the premier experts on New York City architectural history, Dolkart shared the history and development of the neighborhood as seen through its distinct and varied architecture.
